Exciting staff changes at AS220 Youth

If you’ve been around the studio this fall, you may have noticed some new faces around. As we begin working on expanded partnerships with Nowell Leadership Academy and RI Training School, it’s opened new staffing opportunities. While we’re sending off a few admired teaching artists to their next adventures, we have a number of promotions and new hires to announce:

As you may know, Anjel Newmann, our Youth Director, was promoted to Director of Programs several months ago. She will still be involved at Youth but will also be overseeing multiple programs at AS220.

Janay Pina has been promoted from Operations Manager to Downtown Studio Manager.

K. Funmilayo Aileru has been promoted from Teaching Artist to Media Arts Coordinator.

Saulo Castillo has been promoted from Staff Instructor to Dance Coordinator.

Jason Colon is starting as our Rhode Island Training School Site Manager.

Miche’le Fontes is starting as our Nowell Leadership Academy Site Manager.

Simcha Davis is starting as a Visuals Staff Instructor.

Atto Pilot is starting as a Studio Engineer Teaching Artist.

Cas Pereirais starting as a Music Teaching Artist.

Natalie Veno is starting as anApparel Teaching Artist.

Satta Jallah is starting as a Performing Arts Teaching Artist.

Along with transition comes a few goodbyes. Kyle B. Co., our Printshop aficionado and resident baker, will be pursuing their MFA at Rutgers. Nick Carter, long time Visuals and Apparel Coordinator, will be pursuing his MFA at Tyler School of Art at Temple University. Music Instructor Chris Senice, who is a Youth alum and held down music for FW4 and 5, will also be moving on to new adventures. We wish all of them the best!

All current staff and teaching artists can be found on our About page.
