After much consideration, we have decided that AS220 Youth will remain closed to the public through the whole month of April. It was not an easy decision, but we know the most important thing we can do right now is keep our community safe through social distancing.
This means that Spring Session won’t start as planned and all events planned for April will be postponed. That said, Youth Apprentice jobs will continue and so will the art making! We will be doing everything we can to create engaging, remote programming and finding new ways to connect with our members. Our teaching artists are hard at work on virtual learning plans and we have distributed many emergency art/basic needs kits to our Apprentices and members and youth who are on lock down at the Training School. For now, we will be sharing youth art work on our social channels, so please follow us and tag us in your work. We will be doing weekly virtual open studio time for youth artists of all mediums, details TBA. There may be another opportunity to pick up supplies so look out for updates.
We know this is a tough time, so we’ve put together a list of resources here. We know you may be struggling with getting basic needs met, or you may be anxious or just bored. Continue reaching out to us. We’re here.
