I have been making art since I was thirteen years old. I started when I was bored in group homes and in hospitals because there was a lot of time to fill. I started drawing caricatures of patients, nurses and other staff to give as gifts. When I was fifteen I came to AS220 where I learned drawing and painting skills. When I was seventeen I saw someone coming out of the AS220 Darkroom and I said I can do that! Then I started photography and totally fell in love. Then I found video and fell even more in love. I want my art to inspire people to see that things are not as bad as they seem and to remember where you came from. The need to create my artwork usually comes through pain but it becomes a positive expression of the joyful moments of my life.
