Studio Engineering: Live Sound and Working with Presonus digital board

What I learned my first week of audio engineering was the basics of a cool audio mixer, presonus studio live 16.2!!! Studio live has 16 channels, a built in reverb, delay, equalization and compression. These channels and effects are essential to vocals and livebands. Studio live has presets for each instrument, from Saxophone to Keys, drums to vocals. I learned how to work my way around this component. Through the “Store and Recall” feature I was able to create, copy, paste and save my presets. In order to complete this task I had to select a channel, press the fx button. From there browse through the presets and effects, adjust the effects to my satisfaction and  press the store function. Working with a digital board helps in many ways. Im able to eq and compress on the go really fast. The pre amps are availible on every channel and sound amazing. This digital board also comes with its own software called capture, And your able to record 16 instruments at once. For people that dont have protools hd this is an awsome feature. Although Im still learning how to operate this board, I feel like its in a league of its own.
