Performing Arts Crew welcomes guest artist Christopher Johnson

On 2/11/2021 We had Christopher Johnson join us a Virtual Guest speaker! The Performing Arts Program joined VIsuals & Media to listen to Christopher Johnson speak to the youth about the writing process, being anti-racist as well as talk about the creation of his future play about the Hardscrabble riots in Providence, RI.
Youth got to ask questions about his research for his play, as well as share some of their own poetry with him.
Christopher Johnson is the recipient of the 2018 Rhode Island State Council of the Arts Fellowship for Playwriting. He is also a finalist for the 2018 for the McColl Johnson Fellowship and an award-winning Slam Poet. Most recently, he was featured on Forbes Magazine for his writing style and anti racist work through poetry.
